Cupping Legend
Eduardo Ramirez
Eduardo Ramirez is now one of the most recognized producers in the country, but long before that, he started from scratch on his farm. To become part of the first generation of coffee producers in his family, Eduardo went through a long journey filled with challenges.
He began as a quality manager in CoopeLibertad, where he learned everything about coffee and its processes. After that, he embarked on the challenging adventure of buying a 20-hectare farm and started planting coffee. He now has 10 years of experience processing coffee on his farm, which is situated at an altitude of up to 2100 meters above sea level.
Eduardo is known for his work with Café Imports and as a judge for the Cup of Excellence. He reached this point thanks to his efforts, which led him to become the national Cupping Champion in 2019 and obtain the Q Grader certification.
Among the varieties under Eduardo's care, you can find Geisha, SL-28, Villa Sarchí, and Java. Each of these is carefully tended to maintain a standard in their processes and improve their quality. Attention to detail is Eduardo's hallmark, as he always strives for quality over quantity.
Being the first generation of producers comes with many challenges; it is a task of great difficulty. That is why at Planting Costa Rica, we place our trust in people who give their all in their work, and whose final product reflects the quality of their work and effort.
